why briye

In the fall of 2023, I officially launched Briye Aesthetics to serve as a Cosmetic and Paramedical Tattoo Artist.

Before joining this cosmetic industry, dentistry was the the field through which I fulfilled my passion to serve. I graduated from dental school in 2019 and, by 2021, I was settling into a work dynamic I truly loved: serving patients in a private practice 1 day a week, serving patients in a community clinic 2 days a week, and teaching students at the dental school the remaining days of the week.

But, all of that quickly spiraled to an end by fall of 2021 after months of struggling with the spontaneous, debilitating pain episodes of endometriosis. I was physically, emotionally and mentally burnt out and as a result, made the difficult decision to step away from clinical dentistry in order to fulfill all the health visits and lifestyle changes that I thought would have me back to normal and back to my patients in no time.

That sadly didn’t happen.

I had to embrace a new “normal” – living with a chronic condition that ruins the lives of millions of women worldwide. And part of embracing this life meant recognizing that the demands of dentistry are too overwhelming for me to rely on it as my primary means of fulfilling my passion for service and making a living.

I prayed to God for another way to utilize my skills, be creative and integrate my love for art and science, all while fulfilling my passion to serve. And His answer to that prayer is what led me here.

The idea of Briye Aesthetics gave me a new sense of purpose during one of my darkest seasons in life and the journey of creating it this far has shown me that nothing, including endometriosis, can take away my ability to serve and shine. And, I am determined to use Briye Aesthetics as a way to shine my light and empower others to powerfully shine their light as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by and welcome to a space I hope will be a blessing to you and your journey in some way.
